Elderly farmer dies while lining up for cash aid payout

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A sexagenarian died while queueing for the emergency cash transfer (ECT) payout for drought-ravaged corn farmers at the Capitol Gymnasium in this city on Friday, local officials said. Wilson Corpuz, a 65-year-old villager of Barangay Anquiray in Amulung, was one of the 31,782 farmers listed in five cluster areas to benefit from the P10,125 government aid.
