Visayas grid placed on yellow alert due to plant outages
MANILA, Philippines — The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid under yellow alert on Sunday as several power plants remained unavailable. In an advisory, NGCP said the yellow alert would be in effect from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement, indicating that power reserves have thinned but that supply remains adequate to meet consumer demand.
