Visayas grid on yellow alert anew
MANILA, Philippines — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid on yellow alert on Friday as several maor coal plants remained unavailable resulting in supply shortage amid increased demand. In an advisory, the transmission company said that the yellow alert would be between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. as peak demand was expected to reach 2,441 megawatts (MW), with available supply at 2,663 MW.
