Kanlaon Volcano starts emitting ash
THE state seismology bureau has recorded another ash emission from Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island which is currently under alert level 2 or increased unrest. Teresito Bacolcol, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) director, said the event that took place at 8:58 a.m. on Tuesday generated grayish plumes that rose 500 meters (m) above the crater before drifting southwest.
